I just finished watching the interview. Thanks for sharing it. I was planning on writing a long comment about how I feel about some things from Pat but that would take very long. I realize that I need to somehow express how I feel about his music and in the other hand, about his trajectory presenting his music to the world through interviews, books, podcast, etc. Pat it's not only his music but it's also about what he represent as a human being. We get a little glimpse of that when he mentions the authenticity and the honesty factors that are at stake in music but it's something that's always present in different ways throughout the years. Hearing him always gives me direction in music and hope about this crazy, crazy world. Again, thank you Mr. Harrison.
Joel, while I had already read some of it, hearing your astute and empathetic questions and Pat’s thoughtful responses - plus feeling the rapport between the two of you is so really good and much appreciated.
And… I really agree about Pat & guitars. When he plays a particular guitar, he’s really giving himself to that specific instrument, its sonic characteristics and all. It’s something really special about him. Break a leg at your reunion gig. Wish I could come.
Thanks for this. I’m really looking forward to the Carnegie Hall performance. Off topic I know (it’s been 15 years ago), but The Orchestrion project was so audacious; an example of Metheny’s willingness to experiment and take chances.
Thank you for this thoughtful comment. It's wonderful to see how Pat and his music has affected people's lives. I hope you do write about that!
I very much appreciate the comments, Bob
That's for sure. Near madness!
